When a friend of 25 years asked for our help modernizing her new home in Mar Vista, we nervously agreed. While collaborating with close friends is not always the easiest, we were relieved to find that the project only strengthened our relationship in the end. The owner’s implicit trust in our design capabilities gave us free rein to design for their functional and aesthetic needs. It was important to them that we blended modern furnishings and built-ins with the warmth of a family home. A transformed fireplace, playful wallpaper, a fresh coat of paint, and new casings for the entire house, brought this vision to life. Additionally, we created custom millwork to match the needs of the growing family.
