The owners of this Tahoe home embarked on a 2-year journey with SLD to transform their “mountain getaway” into a gorgeous lake-side retreat. As avid readers, they needed a library to house their extensive book collection; we then designed a custom-built bookshelf that spans multiple walls and utilizes the vaulted ceiling height. We honored the original architecture by sanding the beamwork back to its original tone and tripling the size of the dining room glazing. We carefully sourced art for a gallery wall as tall as the windows and curated furniture for comfort and style. Additionally, we designed custom brackets for the dining pendants to highlight the ceiling height and emphasize the home’s grandiosity.
